Background
Dr. Soraya Leal-Bertioli obtained her Ph.D. at The University of Nottingham (UK) on molecular characterization of entomopathogenic fungi. Moving back to Brazil, she was appointed Research Scientist at Embrapa working with wild species of peanut: characterization, creation of genetic and genomic tools and pre-breeding. Her interest is in the use of wild species for peanut improvement using genomics.
